Little Nymph

2nd November. Tried for an evening rise, so Janice and I packed a picnic tea and drove 15 minutes to the lower reaches of the Tukituki. The picnic tea was great, but the evening rise didn’t happen as a Nor Westerly teased it’s way up the river, reaching gale force winds. But I still enjoyed landing an extremely fat, well conditioned 4 lb Rainbow on my “Harlen’s caddis.” This little nymph has proven time and time again to be a success on Hawke’s Bay rivers and is now copied by many anglers.
